Eyes Without a Face

Without a doubt an effectively creepy movie. It’s reminiscent of the Japanese film, The Face of Another, but not quite. It’s really just the subject of face deformities being covered that reminded me of it. (In this case with a mask and skin grafts, and with The Face of Another it’s hyper-realistic mask itself, that movie’s more focused on identity rather than anything else [in my opinion].) I found the visuals to be excellent, and was surprised with how graphic it was for that time period.

Minor spoiler (?): I really enjoyed the part where her face begins to reject the graft, and how they slowly show the degradation of her face. There was a documentary I watched on the first face transplant ever, and they were specifically worried about that. So I thought that was interesting.
